Remove "comments" and "leave a reply" boxes? (6 posts)

    I'd like to remove the "comments" and "leave a reply" areas from my pages (just trying to make a more static site vs a blog). Does anyone know how I can go about doing that? Thanks!

    Go to your dashboard and edit each post/page where you want to remove the comments/reply boxes.

    On the post/page edit screen, click on the Screen Options tab at top right.

    In the panel that then becomes visible, check the Discussion checkbox.

    You will now see, below the editor, a discussion panel with the option to Allow/Disallow comments. Uncheck it to get rid of the comments/reply boxes.

    Why this isn't the default (showing the discussion panel), I don't really understand.

    Uh! Should have said, you should also go to Dashboard --> Settings --> Discussion to set the correct defaults for your site.

    Or one could go to Appearance -> Theme Options -> Custom Stylesheet and in the specified file put the text:

    .feedback { display:none; }
    #comments #respond { display:none; }
