and 2 columns on every other page. This site will be used primarily as a website, not a blog.

    Questions:

    1. How do I set 3 columns on static front page and two columns (widgets on left)on every other page?

    2. Menus - I'd like to have sub-menus listed in the left widget area for each primary menu page and only the sub-menus that apply. We don't want drop-downs from the front page. Each sub-menu will require its own widget. Is there a way I can do this?

You can see my site here: http://ffladmin.netfirms.com/hermes/bosweb25b/b558/nf.ffladmin/public_html/hermes/bosweb25/

Thanks in advance for your help.

AJ includes page templates for all column layouts - BUT, you can only use page templates that have the same number or FEWER columns than your global setting (this may change in the next update since WordPress 3.3 includes some really cool changes with how sidebars work at a technical level).

This means the solution for the current version of AJ is a bit tedious:

    1. In Appearance > Theme Options, choose a 3-column layout
    2. For every one of your pages that you want a 2-column layout, select the 2-Column option from the "Page Templates" dropdown

This does mean that you have to manually apply the template to each of your pages, but at the moment it's the only way to mix 3-column and 2-column templates.

Thank you! I also solved my menu issue using Display widgets.
