• I’m absolutely new to WordPress. πŸ™
I find it odd that most WordPress sites are filling up only 2/3 of a normal screen.
Because of that I’ve fiddled with the settings and changed the width wherever possible.
But then the picture in the front became too narrow.
The site is about a community TV-service, where we want to publish the residents own tv-productions.
The template I’m using might not be the best for the purpose?
This is the site in question:
    http://hg-tv.dk/

    1) How do I change the width of the picture in the front?
    2) How do I change the font of the menu?
    3) How do I change the order of tekst in the menu? Now it’s alphabetic.
    4) Alternatively, is there another template that will do the trick?

    Thanks in advance!

  • You can search here by checking off the box labelled “flexible-width”:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/tag-filter/

But, be warned, straying from fixed width layouts causes a myriad of ugly problems. The same web page contents that work when spread across a 2400 pixel wide browser window must also work when that window is 200 pixels wide.

I haven’t answered questions 1 and 2 because the answer varies based on the Theme you choose, and it doesn’t sound like you will be sticking with Twenty Ten, which you are using now and used to be the WordPress standard, way back in 2010.

When you Edit a Page, there is an Order field in the Page Attributes. You can put numbers in there to determine the default order of Pages in menus. However, most people like to build their own Menus in the Appearance area of the Admin panels, where you drag and drop your menu items in any order you please.
