i've been having a dreary time trying to post actual code within the tags.
everything seems to get parsed.
so i started to use the ascii long hand for the less than < and greater than > symbols and now it seems i am able to finally post code which doesn't parse, and prints fine.
there is a code filter plugin which is meant to do this automatically, but i had serious formatting errors after enabling it.
so if anyone else was losing sleep (and hair) over their code tag formatting, there's your solution.
wheew...

Depending on how much code you're actually looking to put in your entries, you might also want to take a look at a plugin I wrote called Code Viewer which will load larger code from external files and display it automatically.
The Encoder Widget is awesome for shorter stuff or inline code though!
wow, that's a great solution too.
thank you!
ps. your site is siiick! well done.

I'm afraid the widget doesn't work anymore... I just get the same page (an empty form) returned after submitting my data.
