I am baffled by this.
I am adding three new categories and I get the following warning when I try to change the slug of the JOOMLA category from joomla-2 to joomla
The slug “joomla” is already in use by another term
but it isn't in use anywhere.
Would anyone know what is going on here?
When was the last time you emptied your Trash? Do you have a Joomla tag as well?

I do have a joomla tag. I have emptied the trash for everything but I couldn't find a trash folder for the categories.
Try re-naming your Joomla tag and see if that helps.
