I'm new to WordPress. I just started laying out my first landing page. When I choose new page and then select page settings the page settings print down the center of the screen over the existing page text. I think I may hace accidentally dragged the settings information to the center of the page but I don't know how to get I back to where it belongs. When I watch a video tutorial of how to use settings the video shows the setting information coming up in a window. I am not getting a window it just prints down the center of the screen.
I think the WordPress program needs to be reset to default.

I had just watched a tutorial on the drop and drag feature of WordPress. I went to the dashboard and selected pages new. As I recall the dialog box opened showing the settings for a landing page. I closed the dialog box and was getting familiar with the PT Landing page Settings choices.I think that I clicked the very first choice at the top which is "page settings" and mistakenly dragged the Page Settings out to the middle of the screen. This may have changed the program HTML because whenever I try to open the dialog box for settings the dialog box no longer opens. Instead it now prints the settings information down the center of the page that has all of the settings choices. It no longer opens the dialog box. When it prints down the center of the page each line of type actually starts near the center of the page with the line of type finishing at the left side border of the page. All of the choices such as landing "page width" and scrolling down to the bottom where the choice "Short Privacy Policy" is located. The type in some lines overlaps the type that is already on the "Ad Pages" page. I may have to completly delete my web site and start from new to correct this problem if it inadvertently altered the program HTML.
Any help with this problem will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks for responding

The settings for your landing/front page are found in Settings -> Reading - not in Pages -> Add New. Have you accidentally switched to 1 column via the Screen Options? If so, click Screen Options again and select "2 columns".

I checked the screen options at the top right of the "Add New" Page screen and it is checked for two columns.
When you go to the admin of my web site in WordPress at the dashboard and click on the pages icon in the left hand tool bar. The drop down menu gives two choices "All Pages" or "Add New". The choice I used is "Add New". This screen is labeled Add New Page. My problem exists in the WoordPress screen not functioning properly and has nothing to do with my web site pages. I'm pretty sure that I have affected the HTML of the WoodPress page and deleted the diolog box of the "Add New Page"in the WordPress Site. Do you know how I can get in touch with a tech support person with WordPress to have them look at it.
    Thanks

This volunteer-staffed forum is the only "tech support" for WordPress. Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    - re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

I switched to the Twenty Eleven Theme as you suggested and everything worked OK. At that point I realized everything was different than what I was previously seeing on screen. It was the third party theme that was giving me the settings that I was having problems with. I reloaded my original third party theme that I was using and everything was back to normal.
The name of the theme is "Profits Theme" The problems were not with WordPress as I originally thought but the theme that I was using. I had accidently dragged the theme setting causing all of the problems. That's why when I talked about page setting there was confusion between what would normally be seen vs. what I was seeing. It was the theme that was providing the setting and not WordPress.
Thanks for your help. Your suggestion of changing to another theme solved the problem.
