Hi,
I just switched to wordpress from forest blog and it's really nice. But at the moment, it's completely useless for me, unless i get the "Resumé"-function to work, which it doesn't. I post a lot of thumbnails, and without that function, it's rubbish :-)
I checked "resumé" under settings, but nothing changes?!

Does anybody know if there's some kind of fix, or plugin to fix this?
well I've hunted, and dont have a clue what youre talking about
resume as in to begin again.
or
resume' as in a paper you use to get a job
what are you talking about, and where is this setting?

Oh, maybe itøs called something else in english.
It's the function that splits a aticle up and only shows ex. the first 250 characters, and then you'll have to push "Read entire article" or something... :-) Which is very usefull when you are posting many thumbs, like me. :-)

Ah "the more tag"! I wondered about that too. That shouldn't have anything to do with your theme I guess, or does it work with the default theme? Otherwise you can also just change the_content by the_excerpt in the index.php, or (preferably) click on "extend" above this forum and search for an excerpt plugin (I use excerpt editor myself).

I tried 3 exerpt plugins now, and it just doesn't work. I really don't get it :-)

Excerpt plugins that don't work? I had to take some time before I understood how Excerpt Editor works, but I have no problems with it now.
Does changing themes make any difference?
Any other malfunctions in your installation? Perhaps you want to upload the WP files again, just to make sure there are no corrupt files on your server.
Btw., what happens? Nothing at all or you get excerpts but no "continue reading" link? Are you sure it's not your WP or browswer cache that cached the old version of the page?

I'm using the Excerpt Editor v.1.1 and the newest version of WordPress. I copied a long article, and in the Exerpt Editor shortens the text, but when you take a loog at the public artible once again, there's no change.
I will try and upload wordpress again, and see if it changes things. Yes, i've tried with the standard theme too. :-)

Done. And it still doesn't work. This time, I tried with wp-smarter-excerpt, a fresh install and the std. theme. Would you like to login as admin and take a look? Would really apreciate it. WordPress is useless to me without that function, and I just moved to a unixserver because of wordpress :-(

Kuzkuz, did you read the following in the forum rules:

I'm not going to check what happens, but normally there's nothing extra you have to do to get excerpts working. I don't know what's wrong with your setup.
