I have tried to change the address manually by the back end of my blog, and now it’s impossible for me to get in and log into the back end, plus the page is all messed up.

First and foremost, are my contents all safe?
If so, how can I have the blog up and running again?

Furthermore, I was trying to switch up all contents to strettoblaster.com instead of strettoblaster.com/wordpress, which is the usual address that show us up when typing the page address.
Am I supposed to do such a move in my ftp folders?

Sorry for bothering, I know this is a well known problem for absolute beginners as I am, I’ve seen there are some threads about it but apparently I can’t solve with it.

Your content is still save in the database. WordPress can’t find your site where it thinks it should be.

Try setting the urls back with one of these methods:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL

Try these steps for moving your site to the desired url:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory#Using_a_pre-existing_subdirectory_install

You could read out the documentation in wordpress codex for moving the wordpress site and changing the site url.

That problem might be changing the site url

Hope if you are look into the above steps you can easily overcome this problem.

Actually, I read the Chaging the site URL, what you’ve pointed, but

-I don’t have a functions.php in my theme: tried to create it but anything changed

-I can not access the back end panel to do any of the suggested operations in the second link you’ve suggested

Still wondering how to do it

What theme are you using?

Remove your functions.php file or the lines you put in it.

Try the wp-config.php method:

Keesie, I’m using Proxima: ok, will try, but where am I supposed to paste the lines in the php file?

Right after the beginning or in any particular section?

Yes Keesie! THANKS! Now I see the login page, but I’m doing something wrong again, since the page strettoblaster.com/wordpress isn’t showing up.

Am I supposed to cancel the two lines in the wp-config now?

Also, typing strettoblaster.com usually gave a redirect to the main page as strettoblaster.com/wordpress, and now it doesn’t show up any. So what am I supposed to do to reestablish everything, also if I would like to have everything set as strettoblaster.com in the browser, hiding all wordpress folder? Always an FTP trick?

How did you made this redirect? in your hosting panel?
Remove the redirect first.

Removed.

But
-I’m not able to enter the dashboard, though I see the login page
-the website is completely offline

I think it’s still redirecting strettoblaster.com to strettoblaster.com/wordpress.

How did you made it redirect?
In your hosting panel? In your .htaccess file? Or some other way?

I didn’t touch anything.
Apparently the redirect is still working, everything has gone in loop.

Now a new message shows up, as the server is redirecting the request for the page so that it can never be completed.

Maybe I did something wrong in the wp-config method?

That’s a php error in your wp-config.php. Can you post the lines you put in it.

Don’t post anything else from that file as it contains private information.
