• I am not a big WordPress expert, but together with a friend of mine we did great things with a WP-based site, so I chose WP for my latest idea.
One of the key features of my new site will be a multi-country events’ calendar. Oh, the horrors, oh the pitfalls. I never knew so many pitfalls existed 🙁
Eventually we settled with the Events Calendar Pro. It is not perfect, but the support team was very friendly and eventually we tweaked the plugin together to fit our purposes (more or less).
In overall, our experience is positive so far, so I recommend this plugin, but some more development is needed

  • Hey there pnegyesi! Rob from Modern Tribe here…I head up the Products team, and wanted to thank you on behalf of the whole group for taking the time to write this review. We strive to make sure the plugin is usable to seasoned developers and WordPress non-experts alike, and it’s a joy to hear that it sounds like your experience lined up with this.

Regarding the pitfalls of a multi-language integration…I hear you there 🙂 This is something we’ve been struggling with for a while, largely because our plugin doesn’t play particularly nicely with WPML. The folks at WPML have been awesome about reaching out to volunteer their efforts to help us get it sorted, and the delay there has definitely been on our end. There are a number of architectural challenges associated with it but we do hope to get that sorted sooner rather than later, given how many users aim to run multi-language sites. Whenever we do we will naturally announce the fix to great fanfare and promotion. I’m glad to hear you were able to find a workaround that more or less fits your needs.

Thanks again for your honest feedback…it’s reviews like this that help us improve as a team. I hope that when the WPML integration ultimately does deploy we’ll be able to earn a full 5 stars from you 🙂 And if we can do anything else in the interim or if you need help, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

    Hi
Thanks for your kind reply. There is a world of difference between multi-country and multi-language 🙂 Luckily I was referring to the former. With assistance from your team, we found a solution, but I wish some updates would come our way soon 🙂

    Thanks

Oh, excellent! Even better 🙂 Thanks for your follow-up here. We’ve got a new round of updates – the 3.6 codebase – coming very soon. It’s passing final QA right now but I’d expect an update prompt on your dashboard no later than this time next week.
