How did you migrate the site? If you did not use special methods to change the database, the new site is sure to have problems.
Some URLs and paths are stored in the database in ‘serialized’ strings. Special methods must be used to convert these strings or the target site will break.
Here is an article showing the steps I use to migrate (copy) a site: http://wordpress.mcdspot.com/2012/08/22/migrating-a-wordpress-site-step-by-step/
Hi Sir,
I need to thank you for your reply for my post,Really tons of thanks.
The issue is still there yes i followed all the steps what it has been mentioned in the link Still the same.
The strange thing is that in admin->pages-> anypage we have Edit,Quick Edit,Trash, View site if i click view View site from admin it is opening the pages correctly. but from home page the url is not working. Could You please Help me out Sir.
Try going to Admin->Settings->Permalinks and clicking ‘Save Changes’. You don’t actually change anything, but ‘Save Changes’ refreshes your .htaccess file.
How to refresh .htaccess file ? few days before i took a backup of .htaccess file. Then in admin i changed Admin->Settings->Permalinks to default-> save changes and Postmeta-> save changes . So once i did that automatically a .htaccess file was generated even then the issue was not resolved. Then i replaced the old .htaccess file which i took backup.
Sir could you please help me out what i need to do next. How to refresh the .htaccess file.
If possible could you please tell me why .htaccess file is used in WordPress? Very Eagerly waiting for your reply
Unfortunately, I do not have any further ideas for solving this problem. If you followed the steps in the article I referenced, I cannot say why it did not work.
