the rest of the error message in Firefox: Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
Safari Message: Safari can’t open the page. Too many redirects occurred trying to open “http://www.christiancoachinstitute.com/become-a-certified-christian-life-coach/”. This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page.
This is a blog post. It was visible for over a month, but now I receive this error. It's the only post or page that gets this error.
Any Suggestions on a fix?
I'm using FF-latest and don't get the error - just the post

Thanks Sam..... I am on a Mac and have the latest FF and Safari installed and I still get similar messages using both. :-(
If you drop the back slash at the end, the post can be viewed, but with it, it can not be viewed.

Will this help anyone to guide me in a fix?
Have you installed any new plug-ins recently? If so, deactivate them one by one until you find the culprit. (I do see the redirection error message in Firefox 3.6.13 on Mac.)

Hey zoonini.... see my comment regarding the backslash. Does that help you?
Yes, I have installed a lot of plug-ins over the last 7 months since I posted this post...... but ALL other posts and pages can be seen..... just not this one.
That is odd about the backslash.
Could you try renaming the page slug just for fun? (i.e. this part: "become-a-certified-christian-life-coach")
re: plug-ins - Let me rephrase the question - have you installed any new plug-ins in the days prior to you discovering the issue with this page?

I am reluctant to rename the page because it ranks # 1 for that search term....... do you mean just to see if it will show?
Yup, I just meant just as a temporary test - but it's up to you.
Also - you still haven't answered my question about recent plug-ins. ;-)

OK....
I have changed, temporarily the post name and now it can be seen with this new name:
http://www.christiancoachinstitute.com/become-a-christian-life-coach/
Yes, i imagine ai have added a few plugins but we also have added many new posts since I have discovered that the post was no longer visible.
Since it seems to somehow be an issue with your slug, I would put a redirect for this page in your .htaccess file to redirect the old URL to the newly working one.
Some hosting control panels also offer a GUI to do redirects if you're not comfortable editing your .htaccess directly.

can't I use either of these in the Admin/Dashboard:
Custom Canonical URI [?]
Custom Redirect URI [?]
I'm not familiar with those - maybe they are specific settings for your theme? You could always try them. (Hopefully you have a test copy of your site either on a local or test server - if not, I highly recommend it.)
Hmm - your new page is now giving the same redirect error again. :-(
In a case like this, I would do the following troubleshooting steps:
- go into your post, switch to code view, and look through it carefully for anything unusual
- make a copy of the post, adding a "2" at the end of the slug. See if the copy works. If it does, move the old copy into the trash and rename it so you can then give the new page the old slug name.

Kathryn,
I think this will work ... your suggestion .... BUT Goggle is going to recognize this as a different post won't it? And it that is the case... it will lose the page rank that the original post had.
When a person searches - how to become a christian life coach - this post is number 1.
Is it possible to go the redirect route so as not to lose the juice it has built up?

I have done as you suggested above. Strange thing is happening. When I try to go back in and edit the permalink to take out the 2 at the end..... and then click OK, the 2 reappears. ;-(
And, after about 5 minutes of this post being "published" it is getting the same error message that I write about int he title of this discussion. Once again, if you strip off the backslash, it appears.

but with the back slash... it has the error msg.

Hey, how did you strip out the 2 in the permalink for the page?
I'm trying to rename the link for a page on my site but it is throwing up issues...

Sorry I can't help you with your questions Stephen. To fix this issue, I ended up deleting the original post and made a new post with the same content.
