I fixed my template at http://shanest.com after switching to 1.3. I like what I have for the most part, but what do you think is the next step to do with this design? I'll probably get it to validate, but most of those issues are merely with putting blockquotes in my posts and minor details like that, so I'm not as worried about that. What, more design-wise, should I add?

I think the best thing to do now is leave it. Go ahead and do your blogging, and think about other aspects of your content. As your blog develops its "voice, tone, attitude" etc., you will think of things that you can do to enhance and embellish the personality your blog creates.
You can keep painting all the walls over and over, but at some point you need to move into the room and just work. Eventually something will strike you as a good element to add or something to change or delete. Simple evolution, really.

Thanks, I understand that point. I've had my blog since January, it's merely that I switched to WordPress a bit less than three weeks ago, so I've got a little bit of a newly found energy. I love posting, but I love designing nearly as much.
