• Hi,

    could anyone advise me please?
the link button isn’t allowing me to use it to put a link to another site from my post.

Any ideas as to what I can do to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

    thankyou!

    Jo

  • Try deactivating all plugins and check to see if this resolves the problem. If it does, activate the plugins one by one – checking the post editing options after each re-activation – until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    Hi Esmi,

    thankyou for the response.
I don’t actually have any activated plugins though and I only just installed WordPress from Justhost so I’m assuming that it is the latest version,

anything else that might be causing it?

    thanks,
    Jo

What link button? The one when you’re writing a post? In the html editor or the visual editor? Did you try to just type html? (<a href="http://www.link.com">linked text</a>) and did that work?

I mean the’add/edit link’ button when I’m writing a post (in the visual editor). Its sort of blanked out so that I can’t click on it.

I’ve not tried the html thing but I will, but I would like the ‘addlink’ button on the visual editor to work as its easier.

What theme are you using? It does sound like something is interfering with the Visual Editor. Do all the other buttons work?

I’m using optimism theme and yes – all the other buttons work fine.
