The index.php to show one fixed page or post (4 posts)

    Hi,

I have been helping with the following site:

    http://vasectomy-info.com/

And it is currently set for the main site URL to show the last several posts in the main page and it looks pretty scrunched and busy.

How would I go into the template files and just set it up so the main site URL above shows one fixed post all the time, regardless of what has been posted since. I don't want the last 10 posts, just one post displayed and then users can navigate from there as they see fit.

Thanks. The template is called ShallowGrunge.

    admin - Settings - Reading
    choose how many to display

Thanks that helps but doesn't quite completely solve the problem.

I can limit the main page to one post. But is there a way to select the post I want to be shown?

I suppose I could keep republishing the one I want as the most recent post any time I add something, but if there's an easier way...
