The Events Calendar – customising re images?

I hope to use “The Events Calendar” plugin as a historical calendar. Specifically, I would like users to be able to access a transcription (text) and a digital image on the “portfolio” section of the site. Is there a way for this plugin to be used so that you click on a date and it brings you to the correct page/post/portfolio entry?
