The Case of the Missing Bird (2 posts)

    Hello!

    Scroll down to the very bottom on my homepage and you'll see a cute little birdie. That's my "arrow" for pointing in the direction of older posts.

    HERE'S A LINK.

    When you click on "older," you'll see, of course, older posts. And you'll see the "newer" bird. How do I get both birds showing up together on the first page? There aren't any new posts beyond the homepage. But I still want both birds sitting side by side, with the "newer" bird link inactive.

    I know this can be done. But I'm not sure how to make it happen.

    Thank you!

    please post the code for those birdies;

    you can possibly use a conditional statement using get_next_post_link() and get_previous_posts_link() resp;

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_next_posts_link
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_previous_posts_link

    example:

    <?php if( !get_previous_posts_link(); ) {
      /*show inactive birdy*/
    } else {
      previous_posts_link();
    } ?>
