I was using some code I found to modify the My Sites menu until I came across your plugin. I never realized how much nicer a little thing like this could be, both in usage and the way it automatically alphabetizes the sites. That’s cool!

If you have any other tricks up your sleeve for multisite functions, I’d be more than interested to know since I like the way you think. 🙂

    Thanks again.

I’ve also written a plugin that lists/deletes post revisions. We had about 8k posts and 20k revisions spread over 20 sites so I wanted a nice and easy way to remove them all. The result was this:

I haven’t published it yet because in the settings tab I wanted to add auto-revision deletion on older posts and haven’t gotten around to it yet.

With that amount of revisions to handle, I can easily see your reasoning behind it. It’s called sanity! lol

If you’d like another beta tester, I’d be willing. Anything that simplifies the revisions task is a friend of mine. Plus, I like the simplicity of what you’ve shown me, just like this plugin it looks very well put together, regardless of the auto function…even though that would make it a totally awesome plugin!

I’m not the brightest regarding WP along with the many plugins, I’m still relatively new here and finding out what works and what doesn’t, do you know of any reliable recommendation lists of plugins for the multisite environment? It’s just that it sounds like what you are handling is something I am attempting to tackle, and it would be very helpful to learn from others with greater experience than myself on the “tips and tricks” to better manage something on that order.

Useful ones we’ve been using include:

    • Better WP Security (Amazing plugin but can slow your site down a bit for admins)
    • Blog Copier (Clone blogs. Very useful)
    • Contact Form 7
    • Disqus Comment System
    • Google Analytics by Kevin Sylvestre (no cruft, just a text field to enter GA code)
    • Login Logo
    • MailChimp
    • MCE Table Buttons
    • Password Protect Plugin for WordPress (Locks individual blogs behind a password)
    • Redirection (Used for SEO – add 301 redirects with a GUI)
    • Revisionary
    • Simple Login Lockdown (If not using Better WP Security)
    • ThreeWP Broadcast (Clone posts onto other blogs)
    • Types – Complete Solution for Custom Fields and Types (Easier to use than messing with functions.php, probably not as efficient though)
    • W3 Total Cache (of course)
    • Wonderm00n’s Simple Facebook Open Graph Meta Tags (Adds meta tags so your posts look better in FB)
    • WP-PageNavi (Better pagination)
    • YD Network-wide options (Copy settings to other blogs. Saves time)

You really just have to search for what you want and someone has probably already made it. Note though that most WP plugins tend to be written pretty poorly. I’ve had to submit countless patches for the ones we use.

Also please remember to rate my plugin 🙂

WoW, thank you for putting the list together! A few of those names I haven’t even come across or heard of. I’ve got my homework this week.

Yes, I agree searching helps, however I’ve always learned you get best results by asking those smarter than you who also looks at the finer details, and they’ll be able to best guide you. 🙂

Positive feedback coming your way. No problem. It’s the least I can do for your help here.

Oh yeah, one last thing: Do you know of any reasonably priced developers for hire that focus more on WP multisite to develop a few plugins and the kitchen sink?? Just curious.
