• Hi all,
I just upgraded WordPress to 2.8.5 after someone hacked it. I’m pretty sure I cleared the hack, but when I just popped over, all of my text widgets had disappeared. The dashboard still says I’m using the right number of widgets, but they aren’t appearing on the widgets page or the blog. I tried turning off my plugins, but that didn’t bring them back. Has anyone had a similar problem? Any ideas how to get them back?

The other problem I’m having is with language support. I updated my wp-config file to the newest version the other day. I didn’t notice until today that it broke my non-english characters ( I use a combination of english and some Japanese). When I replaced the original config file (with the security keys added), everything is fixed again. Any ideas on how to fix this or what could be causing the problem?

Of course, it could be that I missed something cleaning up the hack, but exploit scanner says my site is clean, and I replaced pretty much every file. I did update through automatic backup via Dreamhost. Could this be the cause of any problems?

    Thanks.
