I’m happy with my current theme, but I would like to see what my content looks like on a couple of different themes.

Is there a way to bata test all my content, widgets, plugins, – everything – on a new theme without affecting the current version?

2 options. EasyPHP or ThemeDreaver. EasyPHP is free. It installs a localized version of Apache, PHP, MySQL. You’ll have to run a quick install of WordPress and then you can test away. ThemeDreaver runs like $70 I think and it doesn’t always show all content/widgets.

I’ll give EasyPHP a whirl – thank you

If you have trouble getting easyphp working, you may want to give XAMPP a try…see the following video for step-by-step procedures to get WordPress running using XAMPP.

TIP: when you go to install WP on your local machine.. browse to

    http://127.0.0.1/
    DB Name: test
    USER: root
    PASS: leave empty

if you want to change this then go to http://127.0.0.1/home/mysql/
there you can create a db.

    Should mention – I’m on a Mac
    OX 10.4 (Tiger)
Would that matter for any of these?
