Can anyone suggest the best practices for the creation of a test environment (to experiment with theme changes and other big site alterations). Also how to migrate modifications from the test environment to the live site. Thanks.

Posted 2 years ago #Create a theme folder, store all your developed files into it and migrate the folder to the new site. For content, in the admin panel go to tools and choose export.
The best practice I think is to work directly in the live site. Just load an "under construction" plugin while you're working on it.
