   I want to test 1.3 alpha.
   So I want to install it in a new directory.
   Can I use 1.2's database ?
   will the new install affect anything ?
   Whats the proper procedure ?
   (if different from the 5mins dance)

   Assign it a different table name in the wp-config.php file where it says "wp_ " make it say "wp_1" then you will have no problems testing in a separate folder.
