Terminology issue (how to layout content) (5 posts)

I'm using twentyten and would like to move all content except for the background (preferebly as one container if possible). My problem is that I don't know what that container is called in the css and therefore don't know what to look for. Does anyone know how I can perform this task?

Don't edit the Twenty Ten theme. Your changes will be over-written the next time you upgrade WordPress or the theme. For this reason, it is recommended that you consider creating a child theme for your customisations.

Hi Esmi and thanks for your answer!

Actually I'm doing all changes in a child theme, should've mentioned that, sorry.

However, I would need to know the name of the container in the CSS file to be able to redefine the position.

Try using Firefox with the Firebug add-on.

    ...or Chrome Developer Tools.

Or just look at header.php, and see which container DIVs are added.
