    Hi All,

I do not know how to write code. I do know where my database resides. I am using (bbPress) Login Widget to have users login. When users login, they never get an email with a temporary password. the site is http://www.scru721.com. I have contacted by host and spent most of the morning with them. They finally came back and said it's a WP issue. How can I get this fixed? Come to find out that of the 60 or so users, only 14 received an email with a password.

I deleted both the register and lost password page. Deleted the widget and then started over. Where I found the step by step instructions were at http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-add-a-forum-in-wordpress-with-bbpress/

Thanks esmi for the link. I'm using Fatcow as my host server. Is this something they need to set up or is it in the blog I have set up? I'm really new to all of this and don't have a clue on what or where to look for problems. Any help or tips are greatly appreciated. I did see in the set up with FatCow yesterday that is was set to SMPT. Is that where it should be or PhP?

You could try contacting your hosts about it.

    Hi esmi,
Ok here's what I've done since the last email. I've contacted FatCow my web host. They have changed the PhP from 5.3 back to 5.2. I've deleted all the widgets I was using for Login. Saved and then went back into my site. I have added and removed at least 6-7 login plugins. NONE OF THEM SEND EMAILS. Since I can't image all of these WP plugins to be bad, something has to be going on with my site.
FatCow says they do support WP but only to the extent that the store the data coming from the site. I really need to have this resolved. Could you do me a favor and log into my site at http://www.scru721.com , register and see if an email is sent to you and then you can see what I'm talking about. Thank you again esmi for your help..

Did you install an SMTP plugin as suggested?

I did, however none of the links in your post worked. After I loaded, I get an error message SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. It's set to local host SMTP port - 25

    Sorry? What post?

It's set to local host SMTP port - 25

Check the documentation for your chosen SMTP plugin.

I've resigned to the fact that I will probably get no help with this issue. I have gone through the forum archives and have seen many, many post with this same issue. I have tried the following widgets in WP - bbpLogin, Meta,Configure SMTP, Theme My Login and have even thought about paying to try Builder Profile. I have tried Configure SMTP but this did not solve the issue. My web hosting service can provide no help.

After reading some of the earlier posts. this was an issues as far back as 3.2.1. The poster then probably nailed it on the head when he commented that this problem has been buried by code on top of code and no one will ever find out the root cause.

I will more than likely have to remove any registration widget just so I can get folks to, at the very least, utilize the site. I wish I had known of WP's support before I spent the money with my web host. Lesson learned... Up tick of all this, I have discovered several other companies that can also compete...

What? esmi's been helping you all day. And you did not pay WordPress.ORG anything - everything here is free, including 100% volunteer support. None of us get paid anything.

Maybe you did not see the part where I wrote WEB HOST. They are the ones that recommended WordPress. The issue I am experiencing is nothing new to WordPress. If you were to research this topic you will find his has been an ongoing pain in the back side for people for years.
I imagine it's just the frustration of not knowing how to get it fixed, looking to the folks who do for help, and then getting an email directing me to links that don't work(esmi's first post). Then when I try to get additional help...just have someone try to register on my site to understand the problem it goes nowhere. THERE IS A PROBLEM IN THE CODE SOMEWHERE THAT SENDS REGISTRATION EMAILS TO USERS. I have checked by SMTP settings at my web host. All are OK. If this is not the correct place to be looking for this info, please redirect...
