Temporary files ???

    I’m a newcomer to WordPress and have created a blog which is now working ok.
    I deleted and re-worked the blog a couple of times using images uploaded from my iMac.

    In the /blog folder and also in the blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/02 folder I am seeing a number of binary files all starting with letters ftp followed by 5 random letters or numbers. e.g. ftpAz97d

    Are these known working files or can they be deleted. Within the wp-content folders I am also seeing the expected picture files. The blogs are working normally.

    Help?

    Additional information – before deleting and re-building the blog it had text plus a linked .pdf file – it seems possible that these strange ftp????? files were created when users attempted to view the .pdf file…
