Is it possible to temporarily 'switch off' Users? I have a Club Membership and several people have not renewed for this year but I anticipate that many of them will in September. I would like to avoid having to re-enter all of their information. Is there a way to remove their access to my site for a period of time?

What about just changing their password and when they renew give them a new password?

But, what's to stop them from just requesting a new Password, if they have the Username?

Good point. How about putting an x in front of there email address AND changing their password. I know lame.
Otherwise consider a subscription management plugin.
