templates added to child theme don't override (3 posts)

    Hi

    As a newbie, I've made child themes of Magazine Basic by using the create a child theme plugin. The CSS file in the child theme properly overrides the parent theme, but templates added to the theme don't override. I'm using the Add Page Template plugin to copy the template from the parent theme to the child theme, but templates in the child folder simply don't override the parent templates.

    Am I missing something? I've read the docs and several other posts but can't see why my changes don't work.

    Thanks for any help.

    You may find it easier to create the child theme rather than use a plugin.

    Can you post a link to your site? That way we can look at your style.css file and maybe see what the problem is. It maybe that you have not activated the child theme in your WordPress dashboard.

    My site is at http://www.wordpix.ca/wordpress

    The top of my styles.css page look like this:

    /*

    Description:
    Author: admin
    Template: magazine-basic

    (optional values you can add: Theme URI, Author URI, Version)
    */
    @import url("../magazine-basic/style.css");
