I have just upgraded http://www.thetechnofile.com from WP 1.2 to WP 1.5.
There are two problems I need to resolve before I can go ahead
and upgrade it to WP 2.0.
1) The 'Subfilez' (categories) are not displaying in the sidebar.
2) The photo in the top left corner dispears when clicking on a
page or category.
I have a clean WP 2.0 test installation running at
http://www.shyster.com/wholistic
Which (ironically) is working corectly using exactly the same template.
Is there a difference between the way that 1.5 & 2.0 work, that
would account for this disparity or is it likely to be a
corrupted file? What's the best course of action?
Thanks,
MC
Any chance this hacker's mailing list thread is related?

[edit] meaning maybe you aren't seeing the categories because the category count is wrongly set to zero causing those categories not to show.

I don't see how. Your link refers to WP 2 RC3.
The problem I described is with WP 1.5.2
As I said in my original posting, it's running fine with WP 2.0
MCR,
are you sure there isn't some additional line like an if_statement (conditional tag) in the sidebar used on the 1.5.2 site? - this is regarding the disappearing photo
As for the subcats, are there posts in them? WP by default doesn't show "empty" categories.

Moshu,
It's an upgraded 1.2 template that's all contained within one
index.php file so there's no additional sidebar file. The exact
same index.php file is on both sites.
As for the the subcats, they are choca full of posts. If you look
on the main site, you can see all of the categories the posts are
assigned to, which is why I'm at a loss.
Any other suggestions?
MCRebbe; yes I was way off--thread I posted has to do with Comment Count and 2.0 LOL.
Good luck!

Oh well, what the hell, I went ahead and upgraded to WP 2.0
and guess what? Subcats are now displaying corectly.
Perhaps there's a difference in the syntax of the funtion I am
using to call them, between versions, perhaps it was an anomaly.
Who knows.
I still have the same problem with the picture disapearing though.
