    Hi!

I've installed a wordpress-site on a Debian-server in a DMZ. Everything works fine on the LAN, but once I try to access the site from the outside, I just get the text and no formatting/theme. A lot of other apps works fine on the Internett from the same server. I have tried several themes, but none seems to work from the outside. You can see the site at http://89.151.208.216/wordpress/

    Any ideas?

you have 2 differing url's for your install
    some go here
    http://192.168.10.205/~ivarfr/

both url's need to be at the actual install

Yes, I created a link called "wordpress" just to make it simple. But even if I use the original http://192.168.10.205/~ivarfr/, I still have the same error.

From what I can see, the site takes a while to load from outside the LAN, but other sites on the same server load right away. I've checked with the network admins, but they claim that nothing's being stopped in the firewall.

I'll upgrade to the latest WordPress in a while; will se if that changes anything.

No you need to register a domain name then have that pointed to the external ip of the server and then follow the directions for changing the site url samboll gave.

    Ah... That explains a lot.

Thanks, I'll give it a try!

Well, I guess I had my hopes up too soon. I enabled my domain, deleted my old installation and database, and started all over again. Once again, I seem to have the same problem, but this time I have not used any local or public IP-adresses at all, everything should point at http://web.friheim.com/~ivarfr/. And from what I can see, all URLs point at the same address.

On the LAN I can see this page just fine, but from the net - just content, no formatting. I've checked the "siteurl" and "home" fields in mysql, and both point at the dns-address stated above.

Am I missing something obvious here?
