Hi
I have created a template file using the specific comment format at top.
But this template is not showing when I am trying to assign it to a page. The select box shows only Default template. Please help me to fix this. I need to write some custom php codes. Is there any other way to write php code other than template? (what is the file name which shows as default template? I try to write php there itself)
Please help me. This is an urgent requirement.

Please pastebin the code so we can see what you're doing, otherwise we can't help.
And if it's urgent, I recommend hiring someone, http://jobs.wordpress.net -- the WordPress community volunteers and supports users for free, so stating it's urgent, isn't a great way to get a response ;)

thnx for the reply. I just need to write some php code. As I know, php code can be written in a template file only and then while creating a page, assign this template to that page.
But in the select box, the template name is not found. it has only one option, Default template. A fresh wp installation will have 2 options, default template and "One column, no sidebar" template. But my select box even dont have this 2. So what I am think is it might be some other problem.
I am writing the php code to do some operations with paypal.
