   Hi!

   I'm redesigning my portfolio and I'm using WP as the CMS, so I'm building a personal theme. Basically, I want to have the single.php template display my "portfolio" category differently than my other categories/misc posts.

   Is there a way that I can define a single.php for a particular category? According to the hierarchy it doesn't look like it.

   Anyone dealt with this particular issue before or have any input?

   Also, for any work arounds, how compatible/bullet-proof are they as wordpress progresses in versions?

   I'm fairly new to theme developement for wordpress, so I hope I explained everything effectively (well, at least sufficiently).
