   I'm creating a video blog, and in the process of looking for a good template I'm stuck.

   I've gone through dozens of vlog templates, and none of them really suit my needs... I'm really looking to achieve an effect most similar to this:

   tv.winelibrary.com

   Please take a look at this blog and let me know if a relative newbie like myself with average computer skills and no coding know-how could pull off a similar design. I'm not opposed to hiring someone to do it, but I don't know where to look and what it would cost.

   Perhaps there's a template out there that I can tweak to get something similar. Key for me is the 545 x 344 featured Viddler video, recent videos below, social networking to the right in a tight column, and a light color scheme.

   Any input would be greatly appreciated.

   well, its quite difficult, because you dont to hire a designer. may be your idea with template will work out. so all i can is at least to give you the link to te site where you could find free templates. probably some information about editing the theme is written in the FAQs on this site, take a look.
