Template editing (aka--pulling my hair out!!) (2 posts)

I have successfully set up one blog and "ch mod" so I could edit my template to my liking. Although it took me a week to figure it out, I'm very pleased with the outcome.

Now I'm trying to do it on my second blog and running in to problems. I've checked (and changed) the permissions (the template in question is pre-set at 777), and I *should* be able to edit the template and individual pieces of it. But no dice. I have opened my first blog dashboard and the second dashboard simultaneously to discern if I've forgotten something in the set-up (can't find anything), and I'm at my wits' end.

What am I missing? The one thing that is different is that my second blog is an add-on domain to my first, but everything from mySQL to WP set-up is identical within my cPanel. I simply want to edit my header and then upload my previous entries from blogger, but I don't want to upload the entries until the template is set.

Can you help me keep what hair is left on my head and prevent all of my Adsense monetization from going towards a really good wig??

    TIA!

Why not use a regular editor, and FTP the files down, edit them, and FTP them back up? I NEVER use the theme editor inside wordpress - I use EditPlus and just get everything done that way.
