Template editing (7 posts)

I posted this as part of another problem, but I think it's a good idea to post it separately. Here's the situation:

I have three themes loaded, default, classic and connections. I use connections, and in the past I have been able to edit it through the dashboard thing, but now when I hit "Theme Editor" on Connections it says:
"Oops, no such file exists! Double check the name and try again, merci."

When I go to the Themes page, the only one that shows a preview is "Classic" and when I switch to that, I am able to edit it. If I delete Connections, both Default and Classic have previews and are editable. I haven't changed anything, and Connections is in the same directory as the other two.

    Any ideas?

If you haven't changed anything then it's likely your host has. Write them a note...

And now, after upgrading to 2.0.5 I can't edit my themes at all. It keeps saying: "Stylesheet is missing" even though the stylesheet is there. I reuploaded default, and that works, but i can't edit that either. It says the files are in /, but when i go to editor, it says no file exists. I have deleted and reinstalled my themes, but it keeps saying stylesheet is missing and won't let me switch to anything. Can anyone help me? :(

Another possibility is that you copied and pasted some items from the CSS file, in particular the first group of lines. This group of lines tells WP what the theme name is, version, etc. If two themes have the same CSS "header" wacky things happen.

Interesting point, billh. I checked, but the two CSS files have different names and everything else. I am using default right now until i can get connections working again. Even if I install new themes from theme chooser site, they also say "Stylesheet is missing". Interestingly, I can go to "Files" under "Manage" and see/edit the stylesheet for connections.
