Template and Graphics Just Disappeared!!! (14 posts)

Wow! Went to my blog today, which I had customized to flow with the theme of my web site and all I had was blank shell of a template. All my data was still there, but NO graphics... NO widgets... NO header... none of the customizations I had made. It would appear that the css file has somehow been compromised.

Before I go about the arduous task of rebuilding the whole thing, does anyone have any inkling as to why this happened, or if there's an easy fix to refresh my blog to its original state?

    Here's my blog!

I appreciate your reply, but it sure isn't "all there" on my computer, nor the one at my work. Are you using IE? If so, which version?

I dont know what your site looked like before -- this is fruitless.

if you're not seeing something that you think is supposed to be there -- say it, and be SPECIFIC.

    "This image ...", for instance.

Thought I had done that in my original post. It should resemble my web site which you may view here: Doc's Site

Color scheme should be the same - banner in the header should resemble the one on my site, etc.

they look nothing alike.. and neither does google's cache of your site. One is grey, one is not, for instance.

resemble, by the way, is vague, especially when its nearly impossible for what I currently see to look anything like your front page -- the structure of the 2 pages is far too different.

If you have things like this in your stylesheet:
    body {`
    background-color: #FFFFFF;...`
why would you expect anything else than a white background?

What you don't seem to understand is that it DID resemble my web site just a few days ago. I customized my stylesheet and used a contributed theme and now it's all changed. And, it wasn't me who did it.

Why does all make sense to me, yet I'm not communicating here?

My blog background WAS grey, it had a custom banner in the header, it had 2 widgets, the text was various colors that complimented the theme color, etc.

What I'm trying to convey is that the blog you see online today is missing all the hard work I put into it during customization and I have NO idea of how that happened. No, I haven't upgraded WordPress and, no, I haven't changed any files.

All I know is I went in to post a new topic yesterday and all the customization (aside from the data itself) was gone!

    :(

As far as what current issues you are having, thats what backups are for. Having current backups doesnt eliminate causes, but it would solve your immediate issue.

Got a backup of your files?

Okay - I just had a look at the Google cache and there, it seems, my widgets, my banner are there. Now, I'm really confused. The blog itself doesn't look like the cached version from Google.

BTW - thanks for posting the link to the Google cached site! :)

Oops, again. The provided link was from April. I had Google cache the current blog site and it's missing everything. Everything status quo once again.
