"Technorati Tagging" in WordPress 2.0 (3 posts)

I've been using the "Technorati Tagging" plugin developed by Benedict O'Neill (the second plugin with that name listed under Plugins/Technorati), so I have a large number of articles with a "technorati" custom field populated with a comma-separated list. I recently upgraded to WordPress 2.0, and as such, there are some problems with the plugin; primarily, my cloud which once linked to /tag/WhateverMyTagWas to display a list of all the articles with that tag, now simply displays a list of all articles, regardless of tag. Still pings Technorati with the tags, so that still works, and I really don't want to have to go back through all my old articles and retag them. I'm guessing this has to do with 2.0's new aliasing system, which I tried to mess around with but ultimately gave up on.

So what should I do? Benedict O'Neill doesn't seem to be interested in supporting this anymore--the link on the plugin page goes to a 404 on his site now. How much trouble would it be to switch out a better supported plugin, like Bunny's Technorati Tags? Would I lose a lot of functionality that way? Would I need to retag? Should I jump right into the code and try to upgrade O'Neill's plugin to 2.0?

I use the Ultimate Tag Warrior myself, and it works very well, IMO.

UTW includes functionality to import/export from/to custom fields. So you should be able to use it and have it read the tags out of your existing "technorati" fields.

Thanks! Conversion was quick and easy, and it provides a lot more functionality and support.
