I created a page, which appears on the menu. It's address is an external link. It loads in the same window, and the only way back to the previous page is to click on the back button.

Is there a way to include the target="_blank" command, so it will load in another window?

In the screen options, check the box that says "link target". This will activate a check box for each link you add to the menu with the option to open the link in a new page :)

    Just install WP Links @Bhavadasa

A few clicks and you won't have to worry about it.
