takes too long to publish (3 posts)

I am new to wordpress but I got a theme installed on Yahoo, imported a demo database and I am modifying it. How long does it take to see updates to data? I made some mods last night and it appears they didn't show up til this morning. On the element I was modifying, there was only "Save" and "Close" and no "Publish" button. So I took out all the ping links, there was only one anyway. Question: How can you develop a site, tweaking the look and feel here and there, when you can't see your changes for possibly hours or days? This isn't an efficient way to work. (Please don't close this thread)

It isn't normal behavior. Changes to posts, pages, themes, style, etc.. are almost always in real time. Sometimes there can be caching related issues, but not that often. If you don't have control over plugins, widgets, themes, etc... it sounds like you aren't using an administrative account. The "Publish" button should appear in the editor on all posts and pages.

What element was that - Where in the dashboard were you working?
