Is there a “Word Press for Dummies” book?

This stuff is all greek to me.

Best bet is to install the Blix Theme and activate that theme then look at the index.php for that theme to get an idea of how the standard version works.

I believe that theme shows the post excerpt as the ‘summary’ you’re referring to.
