tags and tags on a page

I have the following code inserted into a page:

00010100000010100111001010000100001011011001011101101111101000001001101010010011001010101011010110110101100101111000001001011111010011110011011110100100001010111000101001001010110101101001000101001011101010101100101001011101010100101011010111001000101010010000001111100011100110001111111001010010011101000101000001001010110010010101110010000010100100000010010000010010000101111010100111101011010100100011111101011010101100101010100111000101011010101000010100000010100111001010000100001011011001011101101111101000001001101010010011001010101011010110110101100101111000001001011111010000101000000101001110010100001000010110110010111011011111010000010011010100100110010101010110101101101011001011110000010010111110100001010000001010011100101000010000101101100101110110111110100000100110101001001100101010101101011011010110010111100000100
<img src=”http://www.mattmm.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/About-W_031.png” alt=”About Matt Meadows” onmouseover=”this.src=’http://www.mattmm.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/About-O_03.png'” onmouseout=”this.src=’http://www.mattmm.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/About-W_031.png'” />

If you look closely inside the #mmmenu div, I have a
tag written before the series of tags (the a tags are the menu on my site).
this
tag (abouttext) sits behind the menu, since I made the z-index of all the tags to be 2 in css.
The problem is, the more I write in the ‘abouttext’ tag, the more it still pushes my ,a. tags farther down the page.
How do I fix the (abouttext) tag so that no matter what I do to it, it doesn’t affect the position of the tags?
I thought changing just the z-index was the solution, but I guess Im wrong.
Anyone?
