mathewfergusonHi - so I moved http://www.twosentencestories.com to a new host a while back and some strange things happened with the database.
The names of tags and categories dropped out. For example, the tag "girl" changed to "1453". I found I could use phpmyadmin to change wp_terms from 1453 to girl and everything worked fine. I have some 1400 tags on the site so it might take a while. Even without changing number to text, the tags still work to retrieve lists of posts.
The big problem though is that the categories did the same thing but do not work at all. A main category "Competition" changed to "1776". Clicking on this brings up none of the 576 posts in "Competition" or "1776". Changing the slug in the backend post categories area from 1776 to "Competition" fails also.
As a result, my category links don't work.
When I create a new category, if it is unique (like aaaa), the slug generates as "aaaa". However, sometimes the new category generates a number as the slug instead and I don't know why.
So I created a new category "Mathew" and it generated slug "mathew". I put a post in all categories. From website - click on "Mathew" in categories and nothing. Cannot find any posts. But in backend go to posts-categories and I can see a little blue 1 next to "Mathew" and if I click on it, it shows the post.
I've compared the phpmyadmin records for this site to other wordpress sites I have and can't spot any difference.
My categories are broken and I can't work out how to fix them.
Finally, making "Happy" as a category generates "1455" as the slug -- which is the slug of the tag "Happy". Could that be the problem there?
