    Changed my tagline a few weeks ago, but the old tagline still appears in my browser tab. Not sure why. I changed the tagline in wordpress the normal way, through the setting menu. I use bluehost for my sites. Any ideas?

    My old blog name appears, the woda blog. But it should say wandering the blue marble.

    Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Yes, the taglines might be your old ones. But they are very much there in your site and shown also in the following meta tags:

    <title>The Woda Blog — Virtual Home of VT Polywoda</title>
    <meta name="description" content="virtual home of VT Polywoda" />

    Locate and change theme. You may try from your dashboard too.

    Thanks to all who responded. I figured it out. I never thought to check my Thesis Theme settings, but that was where the problem was. Thesis has an SEO optimization section, and that's where my old blog name was hanging out.

    Now I am having that problem! I changed the tagline in General Settings but it is not reflected at the very top or in the footer. I don't see the same theme settings noted here, so I'm at a loss. Thanks for your advice!

    @jheimlich - please start a new thread - this one is already marked resolved and unless you have an identical site to the OP, your issue is not the same.

    You can do so here - http://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting#postform

    Including a link to your site would be helpful as well.
