Hi, latest I start using tags on my WordPress site. I read everywhere that tag pages it might be cause duplicate content to search engines but I believe that I would not face this problem seen I'm using canonical links. I am not using a robots.txt file but the search engines still not indexing the tag pages, anyone know why or how to make sure that S.E will index the tag pages? Thanks in advance!
Tag pages are not "duplicate content". Perhaps you need to review Google's stance on duplicate content.
Did you read the article at the link I posted above?
Hello, here is an example of a tag page: http://www.e-hacking.com/tag/thermostat/
esmi, yes I have read that page.
I have just notice that because many experts is suggest to disable indexing tag pages for better seo. Any ideas why for example Google is not indexing my tag pages? Thanks!
Look how many sites is talking about this: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=tag+pages+indexing+seo
Your tag pages have meta robot noindex.
Thanks for reply, how I can change this?
There should be a setting for this in your seo plugin.
A side note:
I think you shouldn't change this. It's spammy. I know what you're thinking, you're probably hoping this will help rank your site (better) for all those tags. But Google won't like it, will ignore it and might even penalize you for it.
I have already remove this setting from all in one seo plugin. Yes I hope to get more pages get indexing since I have more than 1000 tags... You think canonical links will not help me to avoid spam etc? (I'm getting crazy I cannot find from where this meta comes...)
I don't know the seo plugin you're using so you'll have to figure that out on your own. I will be in there somewhere.

I think your tag pages are the spam.
I understand thank you very much Peter!
I figure it out, I will test it and if it cause any issues I will turn it noindex again, thanks for everything!!!
