Tabs missing on Homepage (3 posts)

I installed the free theme called Misty Lake. After changing to a customized photo, which I made a little taller than the default, I noticed my tabs had disappeared from my homepage. I thought they were just being covered up so I switched back to the default photo but the tabs did not return. Next, I changed to a different theme and deleted the Misty Lake Theme through Appearances on my dashboard. I also went into my Go Daddy hosting page and made sure to delete the file folder located there for the theme. Then I reinstalled the Misty Lake theme and activated it thinking I could start from scratch. However, Misty Lake "remembers" the few changes I made and my tabs have not returned. Can anybody tell me how to get my tabs back? If there is a way I can completely uninstall Misty Lake theme and really start from scratch I assume the tabs will return. But I do not know how to completely uninstall the theme. The pages associated with my missing tabs do appear in my dashboard.

    Many thanks!

This is a CSS issue (but would not be if you used the theme recommended
image dimensions). For help we would need a site link.

    To do yourself:

To discover what CSS is output by your theme, use a web inspection tool such as Firebug: http://getfirebug.com/ , Chrome Inspect Element: https://developers.google.com/chrome-developer-tools/ or Internet Explorer 9+ F12 Dev. Tools: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd565627(v=vs.85).aspx#csstool

    There are others.

When editing CSS, use a Child Theme
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
Custom CSS Plugin, or Theme provided custom CSS option.
Edits to parent themes are lost on theme update.

Thank you very much for responding. I am brand new to WordPress and do not have experience with website design or programming. When reverting back to the default photo did not solve the problem, I was hoping I could just start from scratch with the theme so I would not have to do things like write code which I think is what you are recommending for me. Is it possible to just start over by somehow deleting the theme entirely? IfI can get another clean start I will stick with the dimensions of the photo which I innocently tried to make a tad larger.

    Thanks again!
