Love the plugin. Using it on many sites. However, today, after installing the plugin and creating three tables, the 3 tables were picked up and included in the RSS feed email sent from Feedburner (Google). What would cause this? What am I missing? Thanks.

Hi,

thanks for your post. I'm not really sure what you mean here?!
Are the tables not inserted into a post or page, or why this a problem? Do you have an example?

Or is the plain table data showing up in those emails? Then the problem likely is that the plugin that you are using for these emails is not checking the post types correctly, i.e. it does not have proper support for "Custom Post Types" in WordPress.

Regards,
Tobias

Thanks for the quick reply! The code from the each table is displaying in the rss feed as if it's a post. See below for how it's presented in the email.

I'm using Feedburner for capturing/sending posts via email. I use it on many sites. However, only feedburner emails from this one site is doing this.

[[“Men (18–34)”],[“White, Gold, Orange, Blue, Purple, Green, Brown, and Black Belts.”],[“Women (18–34)”],[“White, Gold, Orange, Blue, Purple, Green, Brown, and Black Belts.”],[“Executives: Men (35–45)”],[“White, Gold, Orange, Blue, Purple, Green, Brown, and Black Belts.”],[“Executives: Men (Over 45)”],[“White and Gold, Orange, Blue and Purple, Green and Brown, Black Belts.”],[“Executives: Women (Over 45)”],[“Same divisions as Executive Men Over 45.”]]

Hi,

thanks for the clarification and the example! This is indeed the raw table data, as it is stored in a "Custom Post Type" in the wp_posts database table.

The reason why this is shown in the RSS must be in the FeedBurner email plugin. You should check the settings for that (maybe you can select the desired "Custom Post Types"), or contact the developer of that plugin and ask them to make the plugin compatible to "Custom Post Types".

Regards,
Tobias

I think I found the problem. It was an ID-10-T error. Using the 'Types' plugin, I created a CPT for my client's Newsletters. In order to get them into the RSS feed, I added the following function which is apparently pulling info from ALL CPTs, not just the Newsletter CPT.

function myfeed_request($qv) {
if (isset($qv['feed']))
$qv['post_type'] = get_post_types();
return $qv;
}
add_filter('request', 'myfeed_request');

I think it will be resolved once I remove the above function -- and replace it with this code to only include the Newsletter CPT

function newsletter_request($qv) {
if (isset($qv['feed']) && !isset($qv['post_type']))
$qv['post_type'] = array('newsletter');
return $qv;
}
add_filter('request', 'newsletter_request');

Thanks.

Hi,

ah, nice catch! Yes, that code explains it! It's basically telling WordPress to include all CPT's during a feed request. Great to hear that you found this!

Best wishes,
Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven't, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
