tabbed news/ events plugin

I’m not even sure what to call it but I’ve seen on some sites in the sidebar a tabbed section that would have latest posts, comments, etc and when a tab is selected that panel shows. Is there a plugin or way to create something that would allow me to put a two tabbed section in my sidebar that would show ‘events’ and ‘news’? Here’s a static example I just need something to put ‘news’ posts and ‘events’ posts in.
