I used to run geeklog... I tried all the others like Drupal, Joomla, Nucleus, geeklog (again), DNN, etc. They were all either way to complex, goofy in certain areas, or not at all what I wanted. I gotta give thumbs up to WordPress. It's like an old pair of jeans... feels just right.
Anyway... I've been making my own theme, based off a geeklog theme I used in the past. T1 Aeon. You can view it at my site: http://www.PaulSpoerry.com Let me know what you think.

It's a lil messed up in IE when viewing a single post and can't leave comments, unless you don't want people to leave comments then you should probably remove the comments area

Your header doesn't reach the end (on the right) so there's a white space there, though in a single post it looks alright.
On a single post though, your sidebar is below the main content instead of being, well, on the side. Maybe you're missing a closing tag there?
Also, the titles seem a little too big & bold to me. Hope this helps, good luck with it!
