Matt should hire someone to create an API that allows you to connect other apps to wordpress for integrating users.

For example, i looove Prestashop, the free eCommerce solution.

It'd be neat to have users synched so they don't have to register twice for blog and for store.

For example, it'd be kinda like "facebook Connect" except for your own site. You can put this feature on any other apps you have like drupal, osCommerce, Prestashop, etc, etc so that users can log in easily.

Lastly, if user is logged in to wordpress install already, you can have other apps automatically recognize this so there's no need to log in again on other apps. etc etc

    can someone please do this?

Yeah I haven't found too much either yet. There's actually some people who have accomplished it already but they haven't released any sort of tutorial. If you google around a bit you can find some wordpress/prestashop implementations.

The wordpress plugin wp-ecommerce seems to be progressing fast though, if it's ecommerce your interested in.

Link to sources of people doing it?

I am trying to figure out how to integrate wordpress into my clients existing e-commerce site and use their existing users and user authentication to allow users to be able to seemlessly comment on the blog as well.
