Sync my Blog with my WP site

    I have created my new WP Site, installed WP 3.5.1 and successfully imported my existing WP Blog to my site.

    THE ISSUE: Upon posting a new entry to my WP Blog, it does not show up in my WP site, although all previous postings (from the import) do show up.

    How do I get the WP Site to automatically sync with my WP blog?

    Thank you for any help for this aging wannabee!

    It’s normal that “Upon posting a new entry to my WP Blog, it does not show up in my WP site”, because there is no active connection between the two site. The previous posts show up because you imported them.

    To push or sync posts from your WordPress site to your WordPress.com blog will require a plugin. I found three that may do the job:

    I have downloaded and installed “syndicate-out”. In using settings for that plug in, I then enter all my WP blog credentials, it appears to “take”, but nothing transfers.

    Can you offer any detailed advice for this newbie?

    Hi Dan,

    I just successfully tested the plugin. I was able to post from my site hosted on WPEngine.com to a site on WordPress.com. Double check the categories that you have allowed for syndication. I selected all categories. Also, double-check your WordPress.com address, user name and password. I used the full address with the http:// prefix. Passwords are case sensitive. Beyond that, I’m not sure what else to tell you.

    Why do you want to post to both WordPress sites at the same time? Most people want to share their posts via Twitter, Facebook, or Linked which can be done via the Publicize module within the awesome JetPack plugin.

    I got myself caught up in the ether on this one and will only use the WP Site for my posts, henceforth. I really appreciate your inputs (BTW, I did get those settings right). Men like you are what we need more of. Thank you …
