I'm hoping someone can help me with this question. Currently, my organizations website is in dire need of updating. It uses a content management system that is not very user-friendly. I have been directed to WordPress because of its easy and manageable system. The only issue is, we must keep the same domain name. If we switch to wordpress, can we keep the same web address? It must be the exact same.

Yes,you would keep your domain name.
yes - of course
if you install wordpress in the domain root - you will have to do away with your index.html to allow wordpress' index.php work
you may want to install wordpress in a folder 1st - get it the way you want it - then move it to root with one of these methods
