   I am looking for tips/suggestions on how to proceed...

   I have a site that I am trying to switch...I want it to operate on a Thesis themed WordPress platform. My concern is that I will lose the SEO I have built up over the past 3 years.

   My plan is to build out the site on Thesis under a different site name, then clone it and transfer the nameservers to my new host/site.

   Is this a good idea or the best way to do this?

   Any tips are welcomed!

   When you say switch - you mean the host name or just the hosting?

   Just the hosting. I am keeping the site/domain name but want to transfer the name to a whole new site and whole new host.
